A community-wide garage sale will take place this Saturday, May 19, from 9 am to 2 pm at The Village at Bear Trap Dunes in Ocean View, Delaware.

All residents looking to participate in this sale should sign up at the Pavillion in advance. 

Those participating homes will be given a packet of colored balloons to identify their home as a participant. The event will be held rain or shine. 

Villa owners wishing to participate in the Community Garage/Yard sale may choose to team up with a participating owner who has a garage, OR they may simply put their items for sale in front of their villa, as long as they do not block the walk way.

The following are guidelines that participants should follow: 

1. Household Goods for sale should be placed in garages or driveways.  Not blocking sidewalks.        
2. Villa owners wishing to participate should do so through a neighbor who is willing to share their garage. 
3. To identify participating homes display balloons ( and ribbon if you wish ) in a visible spot, such as a front railing, on your home.

Bill Hand of the Marketplace at Sea Colony office earned top honors for highest listing volume in 2011 by posting $21.9 million.

Rounding out the 2011 honors for top individual listing volume honors were: Dayna Feher of the Bethany Beach office for more than $14.7 million and Colleen Windrow of the Marketplace at Sea Colony office with $12.2 million.

Hand also earned top honors for the highest selling volume in 2011 by posting $10.6 million.

Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club will host the 6th annual Dunes Pink Classic, a women’s golf tournament benefiting The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition on Monday June 4 with a shotgun start a 9:30 a.m.

The tournament, sponsored by the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, will be in a scramble format with 4-person teams.

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition began in 1991 and became a nonprofit organization in 1997. which has raised awareness of breast health issues in Delaware through outreach, education and support to help facilitate early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Last year, over $50,000 was raised to support the DBCC

The day begins at 7:30 with the decorating  of the carts with ribbons and bows and registration to pick up goodie bags, purchase the super bundles and the grab-and-go-breakfast.

The “Kamikaze” putting contest will take place at 8:30 before the welcoming  comments commence at 9. Lunch will be served at 2 p.m. with awards and prizes given, and course contests taking place.

Entry fee is $100 per person, which covers golf, cart, prizes, goodie bag, grab-and-go breakfast, awards and lunch.

Friday, the Dunes room in DiFebos will host a gathering including free giveawats, silent and live auctions, raffles, bidding for special caddie packages and cash bar.
